PS Stix produces 4000 skateboards a day. Each week, enough waste material is discarded to fill a city bus. Grove & MapleXO are rescuing this material from it's fate in a landfill. The wood strips, too narrow for skateboards, are laminated together. The iPhone case is milled from this new solid block. Fine details are expertly filed down by hand. The case is sanded and polished to a shiny perfection. Last, careful oiling reveals the vibrant colors.
Compatible with Apple headphones and charger. Actuated wood button just begs to be pressed.
Slide-on design gives easy access to bottom ports.
Dual material design provides greater durability. Each SkateCase is strengthened with a solid surface material core laminated to the recycled skateboard exterior. Available in either black or white, the smooth core and bezel give this unqiue case a sleek look. Solid surface material, laminated maple.
Hand-sanded and finished with citrus oil to make the vibrant colors really shine! Made from a combination of precision milling and good old-fashioned handiwork here in our Portland, OR workshop.
We teamed up with Lindsay Holmes of MapleXO who has been turning skateboards into rad jewelry since 2005. Together, we’re giving this waste material a second life.
